There are THREE big reasons why corn should be taken out of the diet.
1. 85% of corn is genetically modified. This is a controversial area, but we are seeing more and more evidence that indicates people need to take this threat seriously. According to Jeffrey Smith, author of the bestseller Seeds of Deception, most corn commonly eaten is actually highly toxic:
“There’s already plenty of evidence that the Bt-toxin produced in GM corn and cotton plants is toxic to humans and mammals and triggers immune system responses. The fact that it flows through our blood supply, and that is passes through the placenta into fetuses, may help explain the rise in many disorders in the US since Bt crop varieties were first introduced in 1996.”
A simple way of testing the idea that GMO corn is toxic is using the “animal test.” Given the option of Organic Corn or GMO Corn, animals will choose the natural option. Here an example:
2. Most corn that has been consumed has been processed and stripped of most vitamins and minerals.
3. Third and most importantly, corn is very high glycemic, which spikes your blood sugar leading to a metabolic disaster. The every now and then piece of corn on the cob is fine, and some local organic fresh corn in the summer is fantastic. Other than this, stay away from corn as well as you can.
