#18: You Socialize Too Much

Too much talkingIf you go to the gym consistently, eventually you’ll make friends there and you’ll want to talk. This is great, but be sure your conversation doesn’t get in the way of your (or their) workout! If you take too much time between sets catching up with a friend, or run at too low a pace because your friend is on the elliptical next to you, then your workout will suffer and you’ll get less out of it. Better: say a brief hello to your friend and schedule to get together after your workouts, or find a physical activity which involves two people, like raquet sports or (my personal favorite!) climbing.
