Myth #5: Our Ancestors Ate Lots of Vegetables
Unlike in our modern world, our ancestors had to work hard for every calorie they consumed. It was in their best interest to maximize their hunting and foraging strategies to focus on the foods with the highest caloric reward. If they happened across a “vegetable”, they would almost certainly have grabbed it, but otherwise they would focus on high-calorie foods like fruits, nuts, seeds, roots, and meat.
